About

I am a trained objects conservator and have worked at the National Museum in Dublin and at the Museum of Archaeology in Stavanger, Norway. After having two daughters we moved from Norway to Wales where I became a full time mum. However I found that my fingers were itching and needed a project of my own - just to be able to think about something else than kids and housework.

I had long had the idea of making jewellery out of broken cups and plates as I had worked with so many fantastic shards in the museums. Also having seen how shards have been reused throughout history I just think it is an amazing thing to do - saving old and beautifully made objects that would otherwise end up in the bin.

I also get an endless supply of broken cups and plates from my mum and sister's tearooms!
